I have now had 2 items stolen by drivers. First was a Star Wars Lightsaber that my son left in the car on the trip back from airport.
It wasn't lost, we didn't leave it on the plane or somewhere else, which is what Lyft will try to lead you to believe. Second item was my phone, which I realized immediately after the driver pulled off because my Bluetooth turned off. I reached out to Lyft (via website) immediately since there isn't a number. Got a response within 30 minutes that they would reach out to the driver.
Then an update from Lyft that there was no response from the driver. Then I was forced to continue to follow up with Lyft with still 0 responses from the driver. The driver who was likely still working had 0 incentive to respond to Lyft and Lyft had 0 method to compel the driver to respond.
Looking at the stories, lost items are spoils of war for the drivers and they way they make their extra money. Lyft responses, maybe you left it somewhere else, fill out a police report...get a handle on your contract workers, horrible experience

User's recommendation: Don't trust this company.They will block your account if you drive a rental and cause you skipped insurence and finance payments. They will make you pay all the NSF charges.

You are limiting the definition of lost because you think you can bully Lyft into doing something. They actually are being quite respectful by not telling you the “lost” category you fit into is “person exhibiting questionable judgement to the point of causing themselves personal or financial loss.” Examples for this definition?
I lost money in the stock market because I did no research. I lost all my money gambling.
I lost custody of my kids because I drink. So be more concerned with how you were irresponsible and not fixated on someone else fixing your problem.
"It wasn't lost," No, you and your idiot sun LEFT your junk behind which by the way, is a violation of the terms YOU or your IDIOT son agreed to. Let me guess, you missed the part where Lyft (and Uber) tell you that they are NOT responsible for junk fools like you and your son leave behind.
You mention the "lost" items comments but in them you rarely if ever see someone like you take responsibility for leaving your junk behind. As mentioned in this post, it isn't worth it for a driver to stop working (earning money) and spend more than the return fee to come from probably clear across town to make you and your fool of a son whole. The best bet, as mentioned is that the next rider take your junk with them.
This is YOUR fault. Hopefully your son isn't a minor and learning to be an idiot from an adult like you.
If you look on this site and different employee sites, you will see riders that dispute charges for the trip to return an item and drivers who do so on their time and receive no tip. i have a feeling that since any reward through the app can later be disputed and the driver can’t be guaranteed a cash tip, the item gets left in the back seat and another rider eventually steals it.
