For the very first time, I attempted to use this service to get to the hospital where my life partner was lying with a brain aneurysm that was caused by a stroke. He had experienced two heart attacks just a couple of months before Thanksgiving and Christmas.
All I could think about was how little time had passed since then, and now this. I had to get there as soon as possible! When placing an order, you are asked to choose which ride suits your budget: wait 5-28 minutes or be served immediately after the driver is notified they're on duty, then where they're headed, and, I presume, if they accept the request for the pickup/drop-off. I chose 'wait' because what's 30 minutes when you still have a few things to gather up for your stay at the hospital; you've been there and you know it's a four to five-day ordeal.
Plus, it's nearly $4 cheaper and a penny saved is a penny saved anymore, you know. So, 20 minutes later, I still have nothing, but the app states, 'Currently searching for you a driver, please hang tight.' So far, I'm still not worried and then I notice the app displays the same drop-off time for me to arrive as it has stated the whole time. What? Am I teleporting or are they the fastest driver known to man?
Well, I don't think anyone reading this is going to agree to those answers, as I wouldn't accept them either. I'm now waiting on my driver from Lyft for one hour, then it becomes one and a half hours of wait time. Some may wonder why I waited to call. The reason is a blizzard, and living in Michigan, it's not stopping soon.
When I call, it directs me to the pet ride with Lyft complaint line! Either it's an insult or they need to fix the issue with their customer service team's number. They immediately say they can help, but they can't explain why I was never on their pickup schedule, or if they asked a driver, nor why I was charged twice! Trying to justify, they told me that they take all pickup payments twice: once to ensure the card works and then to process the ride.
So, hold on, I pay twice for one ride!? And never get picked up! Now, I'm furious because you're not joking, this is not April Fools' Day and I'm told that I'll be waiting 8-10 business days before receiving my money back. I'm now devastated by my own failure to get to the hospital.
I told the customer service agent that this was unacceptable and I wanted the money back faster than they received it. I explained my situation.
Lyft's first step to rectifying my many wrongs was that they were very swift in returning my cash and the customer service agent, though I disliked her answers, was very friendly. I have to admit, I was surprised by this and am grateful to have made it, but I am never using the Lyft service again!

Where to start? I left my phone in a car and I finally gave up on getting it returned.
A year later, a friend got a call from a man who was not my driver and returned the phone. I've been stranded by drivers several times in the bitter cold of winter or at night in the dark, which was incredibly unsafe. I cringe every time I have an issue and need customer service. The site is difficult to navigate and takes an inordinate amount of time.
It's unnecessarily frustrating!
It has sometimes taken me days to resolve an issue. Ridiculous!
- Ease of use & wait & save option and generally great drivers
- Terrible and nonexistent customer service

An event is going on I could not get to my destination. I wanted a refund because I couldn't take the trip even if I wanted to.
The driver did not speak English or understand English very well.
Now the chat expert wanted to charge me on my credit card for a refund from Lyft. That is suspicious

Misty dropped my son off at 701 Worthington, but he was supposed to go to 801 Polaris. He had to walk for an hour to get home.
She lied and said she completed the stop.
The help desk stated it was acceptable because it was close enough. It was terrible for my black son to be dropped off in no man's land at night in Worthington.

I pissed because it overdraft me twice I need one of the payment reimbursed. It should only be one 20$ charge. I want back my 20$ on card and overdraft fee

"I'm told that I'll be waiting 8-10 business days" Let me guess, you didn't bother to read the terms of service before accepting them. Had you read them, you would have known this is how long it will take to get a refund.
As to your reason for going anywhere, no one cares. There's no need to pad your complaint with irrelevant factoids that have nothing to do with your issues.
