Maybe if you did not try to sue for "damages," people would trust you more. You are entitled to get your reputation back. Not "damages"
Not knowing all the details, this driver was probably lied on by someone who may have wanted nothing more than a free ride. This happens across gig work all of the time.
The bad news for him is that the terms he agreed to said this will play out through arbitration. This will take forever and not be worth the time unless this guy has nothing else going on.
This should be a lesson to this dude and anyone else that loyalty to a corporation means nothing. The fact that you drove your car into the ground for the money does not matter to them.
Some people would do anything for a free ride. If they cannot afford Uber or Lyft, they should take public transit or walk.
